Primary Functions:
The Engineering Sales Executive drives new civil and mechanical engineering revenue by identifying, developing, and closing technically complex opportunities. This role engages customers to uncover needs, position engineering capabilities, and sell value-based solutions that drive operational and performance outcomes. This position will be the primary contact and will build relationships, manage key accounts, and negotiate engineering-focused contracts. This role works closely with both the internal engineering and commercial teams to deliver customer-focused solutions that support BNSF Logistics’ business goals.
Position Responsibilities:
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new civil and mechanical engineering opportunities to achieve sales revenue targets and pipeline growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering leadership as well as senior-level decision makers, expanding strategic accounts, and strengthening customer trust.
• Identify and engage new customers through strategic outreach, industry events, networking, and digital platforms, leveraging industry credibility to attract high-value opportunities.
• Develop and deliver value-based proposals that meet technical and operational needs, translating complex requirements into actionable solutions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and commercial teams to craft tailored proposals, integrated solutions, and ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements successfully within multi-stakeholder environments, ensuring timely deal closures and maximizing revenue.
• Leverage industry knowledge and networks to enter new markets, generate high-value opportunities, and grow existing accounts.
• Ensure smooth implementation of new agreements, conduct business reviews to track progress, and cultivate long-term relationships to expand strategic accounts.
• Manage pipeline and sales activities through CRM tools, maintaining organized records of all customer interactions and opportunity updates for forecasting and performance tracking.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, contributing to BNSF Logistics strategic objectives.
• Represent BNSF Logistics through customer visits and industry events. Travel up to 50% may be required.
• This is a base salary plus incentive compensation position, rewarding achievement of revenue and growth targets.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
• 5+ years of engineering experience required with a strong business development background.
• 3+ years of related industry sales experience preferred.
• A college or technical school degree with an engineering discipline is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
