Primary Functions:

The Logistics Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and/or coordinating all aspects of BNSF Logistics transportation solutions. This includes operations, carrier and vendor procurement, sales support, and overall facilitation of multimodal solutions within the company’s service lines. This position will communicate with various players from customers, field & warehouse crews, ports, and off load sites from the start of a project until its completion.

Basis Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

High school or GED, and/or any other educational specialized schooling  

3 to 5 years related experience and/or training in a supply chain or logistics related position.

Basic computer skills, data processing, clerical/administrative, office equipment operations.

Strong customer service skills

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or another Business-related field

3 to 5 years related experience and/or training in a supply chain or logistics related position.

Basic computer skills, Working knowledge of Word & Excel, and basic data processing

Experience working with Transportation Managements Systems

Working knowledge of transportation costing, price negotiation experience

Strong customer service skills

Position Responsibilities:

• Participate in weekly planning calls with customers, warehouse, field & project personnel etc.
• Analyze, evaluate, and collaborate with sales and/or solutions teams to deliver multimodal solutions options for customers.
• Negotiate beyond price to demonstrate value for the carrier/vendor.
• Work with customers on project scope, schedules, timing, & accounting. 
• Communicate project updates pertaining to logistics activities to all appropriate parties.
• Work with vendors, warehouses, and field personnel to ensure delivery schedules are met.
• Resolve issues that might arise during projects among customers and carriers or vendors.
• Develop new carrier relationships through lead generation, calling prospective trucking companies and following up on referrals.
• Grow existing carrier relationship, understand current market share and growth potential.
• Identify and build strong relationships with key contacts at trucking companies, owner operators, managers, dispatchers, and drivers.
• Document creation/audit.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in various software systems.
• Timely invoice generation, approval, and disputes.

• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
