Primary Functions:

The primary function of this position is to manage and coordinate, rail cars for the loading of primarily wind turbines, from manufacturer to off load sites, moving on the rail.  This position deals with a lot of communicating with various players from customer, field crews, rail roads, short lines, ports, and off load sites from the start of a project until its completion.

 

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 19 to 23 months related experience and/or training, and 7 to 11 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in weekly planning calls with customers, plants, field project personnel etc.
  2. Daily project updates pertaining to rail activities, going out to all the appropriate parties.
  3. Work with customers on project schedules, car needs, timing, any modifications needed for cars, and identifying cars for modifications if needed.
  4. Work with on-site field personnel to ensure delivery schedules are met.
  5. Working with Class 1 railroads/short lines, on car needs, switching, marshaling etc. on loaded/empty cars.
  6. Fleet management- tracking and tracing all cars, loaded/empty.
  7. Communicating with field crews for updates to the customer.
  8. Coordinate dimensional inspections for all trains
  9. Request/coordinate power and crew where appropriate for loaded/empty trains.
  10. Manifest creation/audit.
  11. Way billing/rail billing loaded/empty trains.
  12. Report creation/generation.
  13. Entering data into various software systems: Mercury Gate, Excel, GE track and trace model, etc.
  14. Empty release trains when appropriate.
  15. Rail car exception management.
  16. Invoice generation, approval, and disputes.
  17. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
